Aecoo Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: October 12, 2026
This policy explains how Aecoo (we, us) handles information when you use the Aecoo iOS app, its keyboard extension and related account and cloud speech services. For privacy questions or requests, contact smardio@gmail.com.
1. Account and service information
We process your email address or phone number, account name, nickname, password authentication information, account identifier, app device identifier, device/app version and session credentials to register and secure your account, manage devices and provide service access. We process requests, selected speech modes/languages, usage counts, results, points balances and related transaction records to deliver speech services and calculate usage. Network infrastructure also processes IP addresses and request/error information for connection delivery, security and troubleshooting.
Information sent through an authenticated cloud request is associated with your account. We do not use these data for advertising tracking, sell personal information, or include advertising or third-party marketing analytics SDKs in the iOS app.
2. Microphone and background availability
The main app requests microphone permission. When you explicitly enable microphone availability, it captures real audio and may continue while you use the keyboard in another app or while Aecoo is in the background. A short rolling audio buffer is held in memory during availability; idle audio is not uploaded to aecoo or stored as an audio recording. Starting dictation sends audio from the start of that dictation session for cloud processing.
Stop or Cancel ends that dictation session; microphone availability can remain enabled for the next session. Close microphone availability in the app to release it immediately, or let its configured idle timeout expire. The timeout can be renewed by user activity and does not cap an active dictation session. iOS microphone indicators and the app's microphone state help show capture. You can revoke microphone permission in iOS Settings.
3. Cloud speech and third-party AI processing
Cloud dictation, AI polishing and translation send the selected session's audio and necessary request information through aecoo's authenticated service to Alibaba Cloud DashScope / Qwen. Depending on the feature, the processor also receives text, selected languages and relevant dictionary terms to recognize, polish or translate your speech. The resulting text returns through aecoo to your app and keyboard.
Our current account service and speech processing use Singapore infrastructure; processing can occur outside your country. Alibaba Cloud handles information under its applicable service and privacy terms; see Alibaba Cloud's privacy policy. We do not promise that our own transcript retention period governs the provider's separate retention practices. aecoo does not retain raw microphone audio as account history. To avoid sending microphone audio for cloud recognition, do not start cloud dictation.
4. Keyboard, clipboard and local storage
The keyboard extension does not access the microphone directly. With iOS Full Access enabled, it exchanges session controls and temporary delivery text with the main app through their private shared container. Basic typing remains available without Full Access. We do not upload everything you type in other apps or continuously read your clipboard. Clipboard access occurs when you explicitly paste or copy; content submitted for a selected cloud feature is processed for that feature.
Credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. Preferences and temporary delivery state stay on your device. Bounded local diagnostics record timings, state and error codes rather than audio, transcript text or credentials; they are excluded from device backups and pruned as the app records new events. Optional speaker filtering stores an extracted voice profile on your device and provides a delete control. Voice profile enrollment does not send its audio or vectors to aecoo. Filtering is not a guarantee that other voices will never reach cloud speech processing.
5. Optional remote microphone
If you explicitly pair this phone with a selected desktop and enable its remote microphone, audio and timing information are sent over the authenticated local network connection to that desktop. The desktop may then use its configured speech service. This is separate from idle keyboard microphone availability. Leave or disable the remote session to stop that connection; protect the desktop and its own account/service settings.
6. Retention and deletion
Successful final speech text is automatically available in your account history for 30 days after request completion. The current service does not offer a switch to disable this saving. Expired or deleted text is excluded from normal history access. Usage, points, transaction and security records are separate and can be retained longer where necessary for service operation, fraud prevention, disputes or applicable requirements.
Account information and dictionary terms are retained while needed for your account. Operational backups can retain earlier copies after data is removed from the live service; deletion records must be applied before restored history becomes accessible. We do not represent deletion as an immediate erasure of every backup or of independent third-party records.
To request access, correction, a copy of data or deletion of transcript data, email smardio@gmail.com. For account deletion, sign in to the account centre's Settings page and choose Delete account, or contact us for assistance. The flow verifies identity and explains remaining points, paid access and unresolved transactions before confirmation. Logging out or deleting the app does not delete your cloud account. Required minimal transaction/security records may remain after account deletion.
7. Sharing and security
We share information with the speech processor described above and hosting/network providers as necessary to run the service, with your chosen desktop for remote input, or where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect users and the service. TestFlight feedback and crash information you submit may also be handled by Apple under its terms. Service traffic uses encrypted transport and account access controls; no system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and policy changes
You control microphone permission, Full Access, microphone availability, cloud dictation, local voice-profile deletion and optional remote sessions. Withholding a permission can limit the related function. Contact us to exercise rights available under applicable law or to report information submitted by a child without appropriate authorization. Material changes will be reflected in this policy with an updated date and, where required, additional notice or permission before changed processing begins.
